PHOTOS: California Conference Inspires Pupil Transportation Professionals

CASTO President Jennifer Hanshew welcomed the audience to the conference on Saturday morning.

Motivational speaker Kevin Bracy, president of LifeChangers International, fired up the audience with his inspirational words.

Bracy encouraged the audience to recognize the power they have to make a difference in peoples' lives.

Bracy's "Each One Reach One" mantra resonated with attendees.

Dano Rybar, a transportation consultant at the California Department of Education, shared tips on complying with state inspection requirements.

Jim Bettencourt stressed the serious and tragic repercussions of distracted driving and covered legal details on what device use is prohibited.

The trade show on Saturday featured over 50 school transportation industry suppliers.

Collins Bus showcased its new Type A bus on a Ford Transit chassis on the trade show floor.

Thomas Built featured its Saf-T-Liner C2 bus for showgoers.

Meanwhile, IC Bus showed off its CE Series Type C bus.

Sauvadon also handed out trophies to incoming executive state board officers to acknowledge their hard work after they walked the red carpet.

The California Association of School Transportation Officials (CASTO) held its 48th annual conference from March 19 to 21 in San Diego. A "Cool Bus" sponsored by Bus West was on hand to transport attendees from the convention center to their hotels.

Al Sauvadon, author and CASTO life member, talked about his book, "My American Dream," and urged the audience to follow their dreams.
