NORTH ATTLEBORO, Mass. — North Attleboro Public Schools will reinstate bus service to all stops and go back to using last year’s routes after deficiencies in its new busing plan were revealed during the first week of school.

Moreover, a bus that was cut from the fleet at the start of the school year to save the district $45,000 will be brought back by  W.T. Holmes Transportation Co. at no cost to the district, The Sun Chronicle reports.

These decisions were made after Superintendent of Schools Suzan Cullen learned about the number of students who were impacted by the elimination of bus stops.

On Friday, W.T. Holmes Transportation Co. provided the district with information indicating that some buses were completely full, while others only carried a few students each day.

The district and transportation company will work together to see if there is a way to lay out routes more efficiently to cut costs, according to The Sun Chronicle. Cullen told the newspaper that any changes will not impact busing eligibility.

With the reinstatement of the school bus, all students who were eligible for bus service last year will be eligible this year as well.
