Ice, snow cited as factors in 2 school bus crashes

Police say that no children were injured in the separate incidents, which both happened on Friday in southern Indiana. In one crash, a minivan hit a patch of ice and slid into a school bus. In the other, a bus slid off a roadway and into a ditch.

Seattle district approves busing cuts, arrival time changes

Seattle Public Schools’ board members sign off on a transportation plan for 2014-15 that includes shifting bus arrival times back by about 10 minutes (a previous proposal called for adding 10 minutes to the start time of middle and high schools). Also, board members approve ending transportation service to option school students who live outside that school’s middle school attendance area, among other measures.

Suspect arrested in hit-and-run near bus stop

A 6-year-old boy and his older sister were crossing a street to get to their school bus stop when a motorist struck both of them and fled the scene. The boy died at the hospital. Police identified the driver of the vehicle and arrested him several hours after the incident.
