Teen still missing after taking ride from stranger

Kathlynn Shepard, 15, and a 12-year-old girl were lured into a man's truck shortly after exiting their school bus last week in Dayton, Iowa. The 12-year-old was able to escape, and the suspect was found dead, but Shepard is still missing.

47-year school bus driver honored in New York

Pat Beesmer, a driver for Ethan Allen Transportation, is named School Bus Driver of the Year in Ulster County. A mother of three kids who have been passengers on Beesmer's bus says that she is "very tuned in to every child's needs — those who occasionally get bus sick, and those who miss Mom or Dad on their first day of school."

Former school bus driver charged with statutory rape

The 49-year-old man is arrested on Wednesday for allegedly having sex with a juvenile. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says that the man, who was a school bus driver at the time, met two youths in October and provided alcohol to them before the alleged act occurred.

School bus driver killed, student taken hostage

An Alabama man identified by neighbors as Jimmy Lee Dykes, 65, allegedly boarded a school bus on Tuesday and demanded two children. When school bus driver Charles Albert Poland Jr. refused, he was fatally shot. The suspect then took a 5-year-old kindergartner and retreated to a bunker on his property, where they remained as of Thursday.
