Student Transportation appoints new exec, acquires bus company

Patrick Vaughan is named chief operating officer for the contractor’s North American school bus division. He will be responsible for maintaining the company’s service standards, leading the operations team and integrating new business. In other news, the contractor has acquired Rhode Island-based Ocean State Transit.

Student Transportation acquires New York bus companies

The contractor’s acquisition of Ridge Road Express, along with related companies Grand Tours and Scholastic Transportation Management Services Inc., will add over 320 vehicles, annualized revenues of just over $16 million and six new locations for Student Transportation Inc.

Jordan Transportation acquires New Jersey contractor

The company, an operating subsidiary of Student Transportation Inc., completes the acquisition of Kevah Konner Inc. It will provide 100 vehicles and annualized revenues of $4.8 million.

Student Transportation to acquire three school bus companies

The acquisitions are scheduled to close in the next 30 to 45 days and will add more than 550 vehicles to the company’s fleet, with annualized revenues of more than $28 million. Company Chairman and CEO Denis J. Gallagher says the acquisitions will open two new areas of growth for the company, and one will tuck in to an existing operating location.

STA technicians to become master-certified

More than 85 percent of the school bus contractor’s 200-member maintenance team is working toward the certification under the ASE School Bus Test Series. The series includes multiple certification exams on such topics as body systems and special equipment, diesel engines and electrical/electronic systems.

Student Transportation achieves best fiscal year in its history

Leuschen Bros. Limited will add more than 250 vehicles from three new locations and increase STC's net revenues by $12 million, according to the company.
