The San Antonio Independent School District (ISD) transportation team transformed one of its school buses into the likeness of the well-known character from a story by children's author Dr. Seuss.

Seven school bus drivers and monitors worked for about three weeks to decorate the bus. They also attached magnets to the bottom of the hat to keep it affixed to the roof of the bus.

The bus was on display at the district’s April 13 “Experience Summer in SAISD” event, which promoted more than 70 opportunities for students and parents to attend during the summer.

More than 1,000 students and parents visited the bus, Nathan Graf, the district’s senior executive director of transportation, told SBF.

Shadow boxes depicting scenes from the Dr. Suess book Green Eggs and Ham were also displayed.

The team added Dr. Seuss book-themed decorations and poems created by San Antonio ISD students to the inside of the bus. Additionally, the Dr. Seuss story The Lorax was playing through the onboard school bus Wi-Fi.
