Alicia Jennings, owner of Jennings Bus Co. in Canton, Penn., captured this shot of her four grandchildren getting ready to board the bus for their first day of school. She said their excitement about school buses and their family bus business has been brewing since they were infants.
Katie Bays of Ohio took this photo of her nephew, Blake Mompher, when his dream of riding the big yellow bus finally came true on the first day of school in August. He loves school buses so much that for Halloween in 2018 his grandfather decorated his wheelchair like one.
Adam Vahling, a self-proclaimed school bus enthusiast, snapped a photo of this 2007 General Motors Corbeil school bus parked in front of his New York home. Despite the bus’s model year, Vahling said the bus is still in great condition with little to no rust in sight.

Angelo Caputo, the director of transportation for Parma City (Ohio) School District, took this photo of one of his bus driver’s grandsons as he looked out at the district’s bus yard. Caputo said the driver’s grandson loves school buses so much that they often have a hard time getting him off a bus when he comes to visit.

Each fall, Berne (N.Y.) Knox Westerlo Central School District’s bus drivers decorate the front of the district’s elementary school with an educational autumn theme. This year’s theme was school bus safety in honor of National School Bus Safety Week, which was held from Oct. 21 to 25.
