School districts and contractors across the U.S. treated pupil transporters to breakfasts and presented awards. Special guests included dignitaries and mascots.

Arab (Ala.) City Schools Transportation Director Wendell Smith nominated school bus driver, Rebecca Suits, the winner of Transportation South's 2019 Alabama Love the Bus Driver of the Year.

Go Riteway and a local school district hosted local and state officials and a state association for Love the Bus and Wisconsin School Bus Driver Recognition Week on Feb. 15. The event started at Go Riteway’s terminal in Oak Creek, and then proceeded to Forest Ridge Elementary School, where students also took part.

Door prize winners also got to represent their peers and cut slices of a cake.

North Carolina State Superintendent Mark Johnson joined the celebration of student transporters with a visit to Salem Elementary School where he attended a breakfast held in their honor. Students gave Johnson and school bus drivers a warm wlecome.

School bus company Transportation South Inc. hosted its 10th annual Love the Bus celebration on Feb. 13.

Teacher Lori Wilson’s third grade class from Riverchase Elementary School joined Transportation South for the celebration.

Glendale (Ariz.) Elementary School District #40 kicked off its Love the Bus festivities on Feb. 13 with something sweet: chocolates from the superintendent and assistant superintendent to all transportation department employees.

Arizona hockey and baseball team mascots “Thunder,” “Howler,” and “Baxter” appeared at a Feb. 14 celebration.

Community Independent School District in Texas hosted a special Love the Bus breakfast for its transportation staff on Feb. 13. Superintendent Roosevelt Nivens (top left) handed out certificates honoring staff members for their dedication and service to pupil transportation.
