PHOTOS: 2015 Photo Contest

Winner: Gretchen Caldwell of Cherokee County School District in Canton, Georgia, took this impressively sharp shot of a mirror reflecting school buses lined up at Woodstock (Ga.) High School.

Honorable Mention: Derek Graham, North Carolina's state director of pupil transportation, captured this striking scene — an Operation Stop Arm press conference in Raleigh in October. State transportation, education and law enforcement officials spoke at the event.

Honorable Mention: Mark Roberts of Coventry Local Schools in Akron, Ohio took this photo on a field trip. This yellow bus, ahem, reflects well on other buses parked nearby.

Honorable Mention: Barb Kracheck of Olmsted Falls (Ohio) City Schools took this photo. Buster the School Bus, a school transportation van and a conventional yellow bus are lined up in ascending order during a Fourth of July parade. Olmsted Falls City Schools participated in the community event.

Winner: Scott Goble, director of transportation at Canandaigua (N.Y.) City School District. Goble notes that this excited young lady is clearly a fan of Cinderella, who is depicted on the school bus identification sign.

Winner: Rhonda Fiddler, a special-needs driver/trainer for Cherokee County School District in Canton, Georgia, is pictured here with two of her passengers, both eighth-graders. Fiddler says that the young man holding the steering wheel is learning about being a school bus driver. He even pretends to use the two-way radio.

Honorable Mention: Rose Keath of Brightbill Transportation in Kinzers, Pennsylvania, snapped this shot of a school bus illuminated by a glorious sunrise in front of the the Pequea Valley Intermediate School in Kinzers.

Honorable Mention: Gavin Berwald, the director of transportation for Westlake (Ohio) City School District, took this action shot of an evacuation drill at Lee Burneson Middle School in Westlake.

Honorable Mention: Robin Cashel, the transportation supervisor for Sandy Creek (N.Y.) Central School District, sent this shot of students filing toward Sandy Creek's elementary school building to start another school day.

Also noteworthy: Linda Lafontaine, a driver with Wilco Transportation in Calgary, Alberta, sent this photo of a festive decoration her students added to her bus when she wasn't looking last December.

Also noteworthy: Debbie Wheaton, lead driver/trainer for Cottonwood-Oak Creek (Ariz.) School District. Shown here is a mock SWAT exercise of a hijacked school bus in Prescott at a recent Arizona Association of Pupil Transportation meeting.
