Interactive safety presentations, special bus driver gifts, and a bus showcase at a state fair were just some of the events that took place during NAPT’s National School Bus Safety Week.

This year, the transportation staff took the students on a bus ride to practice the safety rules they learned.

In Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, Avonworth School District students honored the week's festivities by gifting their First Student bus drivers specially-designed t-shirts.

During the drill, older students assisted younger students as they jumped out the back exit of the bus, just as they would in an actual emergency.

Houston Independent School District’s Superintendent Millard House II surprised some of the district’s transportation staff as they gathered for an appreciation breakfast that included hot coffee, fruit and nut muffins, and breakfast tacos.

Ahead of this year’s National School Bus Safety Week, Bellevue (Ohio) City Schools students practiced bus evacuation drills to make sure they were ready in case of an emergency.

At the North Carolina State Fair in Raleigh, bus safety instructor Marybeth Kubinski gave tours of a school bus equipped with a variety of seats from throughout the vehicle's evolution.
