One way I can think of is to use Microsoft Word, use one of the "text boxes" and fill in the background color from white to black. Have the text in white in whatever font your district uses. Size it and print, and size again if it doesn't print to the correct size, then use scissors to cut it to shape and glue. |

I've begun to mod my Herpa Bluebird that I received today, and so far it's turning out pretty good. I will post some pics as soon as the batteries are charged for my camera. |

Ok, here's some pics. What I would eventually like to do is add an International 3800 cowl to the bus (thanks for the idea Lee!!), add some more black around the warning lights, and of course make it to Michigan specs.

Great Bus! Exactly what link can you get the bus from on that site ( I can't find it anywhere).

No, they are much smaller than that. They are HO scale, so it's about 4 in long and about 1 inch high. |

Overbyja, try some nail polish remover perhaps. I hope it's not overkill though. I used some pure acetone to remove the black spray paint from around "SCHOOL BUS" on my retired bus, so using nail polish remover (diluted acetone) should take those black streamers on the models off without a problem. Perhaps dampen the corner of a cloth with some, but let it dry a bit so that it doesn't drip anywhere you don't want it to go. Try to wipe it away from where you want the streamer to stay, if that makes sense. If you don't use enough, it will smear and you'll want to have room to work around what you want to stay. |

Wow, that looks great! I really like the cutom grille. As for the 3800 front, its doable but it has to be cut very evenly or it simply wont work right. My front came from a Boley IHC 4300 truck but I have a feeling you may have better luck getting one of the new Boley IC CEs and cutting the front of that off. It will be easier that way because you wont have to deal with the truck cab's pillars, although I'd hate to cut up that nice bus |

Hi, me again.
I started moding my Bus Bank (BB). It turned out a sucess! I got FULL detail, and added 2 stop signs (not KY spec, but I love the 2 stop signs spec). I plan to buy about 4-5 more of those because they are SO SO SO easy to mod. I plan to make a KY spec one, make another one look like a older All American, one look like a newer, one a NY spec, and a junkyard one. I print all lettering off my computer, and using double sided tape, tape it on.
I have a couple questions: #1. I print all of the lettering off word. Before I tape it on, I have to color the text to make it 'fit in' with the color of the bus. Is their any other way around this? #2. I got some stickers I found at some school supplies store (KSS) to make the stop signs. But problem is, I need the older 1980s version of the stop sign so it will look more modern. How can I get it/ additional stop signs like it that fit on a Bus Bank? #3. If their any way to make mirrors? #4. If I open it up, how can I install seats? #5. is it possible to install opening doors? #6. Lastly, how do you get a side exit door.
Hopefully Jeff, or somebody out their can help me with this situation.
~Jake~ BTW: When I update my website, I'll post pictures of my bus bank I took on my new cheap digi cam. |

Ahh, we bring this topic up again, LOL. I was going to yesterday, but it looks as if someone beat me to it, eh?
I have a fleet of buses called 'Speedy Bus Inc.' It uses the same #ing scheme as my district (first 2 digits - year, last to - bus #) EX: 9265 = 1992 Ward Senator FE, bus 65.
Here it is: 2 1991 IHC Waynes (Roadchamps) A 1985 IHC Blue Bird (That small Sunnyside one) A 1995 Thomas RE 2 Monster Garage buses A 1990 All American FE (Bus Bank)
I am also going to start building buses, like Ted and George. I do plan to start it soon, (this week??) with a 1992 Ward Senator FE, a 2002 All American RE, and a 1994 Wayne FE or a 1988 IHC Wayne.

I call my fleet from my Hometown: All-Star Transportation but in my hometown the company is called All-Star Transportation LLC. Hopefully I will add to my fleet by adding 6 IC 2006 RE or FE to my 50 plus buses! |

It's nice to see that this ol' topic has been revived!
Hey George, you sure have been busy!!! I've had the privilege of already seeing those buses but they look great all on the same page. My favorites are the TC2000 and the MiniBirds. |

Hey George,
Great work! My favorite is the 2006 All-American RE. Great looking bus! It's still a disappointment for CCSD not to purchase those instead of the HDXs. I would have liked to see more Blue Birds in the fleet (for a little more variety), even though I like the HDXs better than the All-Americans. |

I just took these today. The photos are of my model fleet of buses, at least the 65 buses here in Georgia. Generally, the newer buses can be spotted by the roof hatches and reflective tape. Most of the older buses are in the rear by the bookshelves. These shots are the first I've taken of my fleet in about 9 years...so I guess it was about time.
