WOW,I have to add more detail to mine! And I want to ride 222174 again, and when the 09 CE finally goes out of service for a day or 2,a bus with a 444 will be mine(not nesicarily 222174). I am so tired of riding a 2009 CE200 with a radio and not riding an 04 200 without a radio! |

I THINK I WILL GO WITH A NCE 2007 FREIGHTLINER FS65 /THOMAS BUILT BUSES 72 PASSENGER SCHOOL BUS WITH CATERPILLAR C7 ENGINE AND MANUAL GEARBOX.
I DROVE A CHARTERED ONE AND IT WAS NICE. THE CAT ENGINE HAS SOME GRUNT, BUS ROCKS WHEN YOU PUSH THE ACELERATOR WHILE IDLING.
CLASSIC BUS THAT I WOULD LIKE TO OWN, ONE OF THOSE RARE THOMAS MIGHTY MITE ON IHC LOADSTAR CHASSIS |

I would have to agree with buster133!!! The Carpenter body to me was one of the nicest looking and had a nicely laid out interior. I am proud to be able to say that I rode on two International chassis with Carpenter body school buses throughout my school years!!! Still my favorite bus chassis/body combo!!!!!
Buster133,Where did you get that picture of the Carpenter body on the new International chassis? Did you make that by chance? Where can I get one? |

I'm liking that GMC Wayne and really liking the IC under the Carpenter body. Powered by a mechanical engine and it would be a decent bus |

My dream schoolbus would be a blue bird vision with an 8.3 cummins and an automatic and low to the ground and a high ceiling cause I am 6'5 and want some head room.I want the highest gear ration I can get I want all the bells and whistles for the driver, A/C of course and I would like to have a lav on it as well since I never seen a schoolie with a bathroom. Air Suspension would be cool as well as airbrakes. another dream bus would be a 1970s Gillig with a DD 671 and a modern Gillig that looks like my Phantom. I wish my Carpenter had an automatic. |

I made this dream bus with with help of Adobe Photodeluxe. It's really more tracing than drawing. The program lets me add layers above the original photo or in this case a photoshop of the IC chassis and the Carpenter body and then with a line tool I basically trace the bus. When it's done I can drop out what ever I don't want from the background and it looks like line art and I can add in what ever colors and other district lettering. I've been doing these for awhile so I have a bit of a collection. I use these images to make graphic T's for fellow bus drivers and for myself as part of my work uniform. |

Unfortunately some people are very driven by money, or feel that they are incapable of doing anything else, and go in to a job they hate every day only to make everyone around them miserable. What boggles my mind is why someone like this would then, in their spare time, bother posting on a school bus internet forum!!! |
If all your problems are behind you... you must be a school bus driver. |

Maybe when they do it so much, it gets too monotonous for them to handle.
I know computer IT people who don't touch a single computer after getting home from work because they're around them too much at work. |

This would be a great industry if it weren't for the kids, parents, attendants, drivers, principals and oh yeah the buses. |

Well I have no trouble with the superintendent nor the principal nor parents. The only problem I have is that one driver likes to take all the ball games and so I can't. I don't think it is the industry as much as what district. Some factories suck to work for others are very good. I think it is like that with any field. Our bus fleet is new and that makes a difference i think. They are well maintained. But it is easy when your disrict only has 7 buses. |
