More details please? |
If it doesn't fit, FORCE it. If it breaks, well, it needed replacing anyway. Pullin' wrenches for 45 years. |

extended warranty . 8 years unlimited miles . cyl. 5 rings leaking coolant .
selling dealer says should be covered .
contract management dept says it should be covered .
IH rep says vehicle has almost 300k when hours added in . vehicle too old to cover . also claims the rings are not specifically mentioned in warranty coverage .
seems kinda odd not to cover , another reason to go with cummins ,

Unlimited miles means exactaly that. 8 years is fairly straightforward as well. The only remaining question is what's covered. |

Gotta read the fine print on that warranty. Those extended ones can be pretty specific what is and isn't covered. |

The DTs have always been wet-sleeve engines, no need to pull the block unless it's cracked or has a hole in it. |

Having not had a DT newer than 1991 apart, is it true they are with only one o-ring per sleeve instead of the three I am used to seeing? If so, I assume it's thicker? |

I think it's 2 "O" rings now. |

There were three, then two, then one, back to two and now one again. |

How many it has is unimportant, all service parts have one (currently). |
