We have a 6.4L engine that has spit the compression ring on at least one cylinder, maybe two cylinders. Am told that reman engines run about $19,000. Is there any retro engine programs out there that could be dropped in these, or is it a total loss.

I believe cummins offers a 6.7 swap for maxx7. heard it was around 20k plus install. the only good thing atleast the 6.7 will be worth something unlike the maxx 7 boat anchor. We just retired 2 that blew up and are using them for parts for the ones that are amazingly still running. If they make it I will only have to deal another 2 years with maxx7 s then all our IC s will be in the bone yard. We have been talking about even going back to gas powered buses also. If cummins could ever fix the water pump, tensioner and turbo actuator and SCR system problems this gas powered buses never would have come up.
