does anyone have a trick or is there one the dipstick fitting that mounts on side of oil pan the nut backed off and oil is pouring out i put the nut back on but it leaks a little i am assuming the oring fell off inside is there a trick to reseal it without dropping oil pan really dont wanna do that
You can fix this without pulling the pan. You may have to remove the starter, but if you clamp a pair of needle nose vice grips onto the bung, you can remove the nut, pull the old o-ring out, and put a new one on. It sounds as if you are already set for a repair, but this is an alternative method that I have used before. Hope this helps.
i thought of trying that but was worried i would drop the other end in oil pan and a a closer look the oil pan seems to be worped a little si i figured it would leak anyway and the repair flint1 suggested i called the place and they said it would sealwith a slightly worped pan so gonna give it a shot
