Propane Training Our fleet manager is getting ready to purchase some (about 12) propane busses. We have a fleet of about 650 busses right now and they consist of CATs, Cummins, Mercedes, and a hoard of International including the T444E, DT466, 466E, and Maxxforce 7. This shift to propane will be a new system for our mechanics and we need good training. The purchase will more than likely go through Sonny Merryman of Virginia bus sales. Do you have any recommendations for some good propane training? Thanks in advance for your help; Kid Grimy

We are required by the state of Illinois to have training to refuel but there is no such training for working on these units. I have read LOTS about propane fuel systems and talked to some propane specialists to train myself. The Blue Bird service manual is VERY good about explaining the system. If you are buying 12 units Virginia Bus Sales should fix you right up on training. (at least I know our dealer, Central States Bus Sales, would)
Good luck and please keep us posted on your experience with these units. I, for one, am very interested in what you think about these things. |
