Allison has issued a product alert on using certain aftermarket external filters. On the Napa filter they use as an example the magnet blocks the inlet holes and restricts oil flow. The Allison filter P/N is 29539579 and the magnet P/N is 29535617.

Thank you for the info. I use the Napa filter currently, it never occured to me to look at the magnet to see if it was in the way of anything.

Yes this transmission is very picky only use the allison oem filter. It pays off!
