Hello. We have just replaced a set of rear pads on an international FE, 28K miles. Well, one rotor and caliper due to exceeding travel limits and pad hitting rotor. Is this normal? I was thinking pad replacement around 35K-40K, or better our drum brakes get up to 40K-50K. Our fleet is mainly air drum, up until 2020. Any thoughts on this.
UPDATE: We have two other buses that are identical. I inspected there pads, both are at half or slightly less at 24K. The buses do have the Exhaust brakes option. It appears that the bus in question is on. The other two bus drivers say they use there Exhaust brake.
Does anybody have an idea, other than driver bombing the brakes?! |
