We have 15 cutaway buses that are on a 2009 Express 3500 Chassis and run a 6.6L Duramax. They run a Penntex PX4VHP-240A alternator and PX600 external regulator. Penntex, I guess, has gone out of business and the regulators are no longer available. I am having trouble either finding a regulator that will work or an internally regulated alternator that will fit. Has anyone else ran into this and if so, what have you come up with? I don't want something as simple as a regulator to down one of my buses!

When you run the 5000, does the check charging system display show up? What about a check engine light?

We run the Pentex on the 6.0 gas versions. Ours were set up so you could always go back to the original factory alternator setup. The alt plug was left in the factory location. I know it is not as many amps, but it is an option.

That's interesting, what vehicles are you running those on?
