I certainly understand the reasoning for this, but I share the same concern as a one of the comments in the story, what about events with intruders and such? Yes, a power door can be easily forced open, but why make it easier? |

I also believe this will be a source of mechanical issues that will put the bus out of service.

I'll jump in on the intruder issue we had an irate parent rip the plastic helper handles off of a bus door trying to enter to assault the driver, after verbally abusing her from the drivers window. The air door saved the day! |

Let's train the bus driver to ensure the door is clear before closing it and again before moving the bus. Now that jacknife doors are all but extinct, there's not much excuse for dragging a student. I see how it could happen more easily with jacknifes. |
