i have a 09 c2 with a mercedes in it and it is smoking when you go and first take off from a stop sign or light the driver had an indecent today where it smoked all the way from the school up too the light at the top of the hill any insite at where to start ive already changed fuel fiters and the air filter.
its a pre def engine but it is an 07 emissions motor with dpf we have had problems with the egr on this bus before its been off and cleaned and replaced
with a reman , then I would check it, this engine has the electric crankcase filter that is integrated into the valve cover(seen it in fuel trucks) is this correct check your turbo waste gate or vpod which ever is equipped on engne

I despise these engines. All of our Mercedes have worked so well except the 09's with the stupid '07 emissions.
Has your egr cooler blown out? Are you missing any coolant? Is the smart actuator on the turbo working? Have you taken the plug off the ecm and cleaned out all the oil that gathers in the plug (oh ya, all 6 of ours does it)? When it starts getting a lot of oil in there, strange things happen.
Pull off the hose from the turbo to the charge air cooler....check out all the oil going through there, that's why your egr keeps clogging up and sticking shut. Detroit told us that it's normal for oil to pass through the turbo into the CAC and wouldn't warranty us a new turbo.
sorry about the bit of a dead thread turns out the turbo was bad and pushing oil everything was coated in oil like everything it was bad but shes fixed atleast on the smoke part theres some other issues that im adressing now the driver had it for a few days says its much better
