That about sums it up.

AAFE built October of 2004 with C7 engine. It's been overheated twice since school started this year. First time a hose let go, second time it was the water pump.

Since the second event, it's used coolant. Temp runs up and down constantly (tried thermostats just to be sure). Bled heaters yesterday and they had A LOT of air in em. A lot of bubbling up in the coolant tank, and now steam out the breather tube.

Thinking head gasket at this time. Maybe the head cracked. Anybody been through this before? I've not heard of much head trouble on the Cats.

In any event, this will cost me.

We had one get replaced under warranty (JUST BARELY) for a cracked block. Its symptom was that it would always be burping up its coolant. Just another possibility to make you feel better.

(This bus and another bus in the fleet had a constant problem with their air compressor head gaskets blowing, resulting in a loss of air pressure and coolant in one all inclusive cluster... Perhaps that led to the cracked block on the one. The problem? Blue Bird plumbed too small of an outlet line from the compressor.)

Is your cooling fan working? Shutters? Also the hose running from the surge tank along side the radiator shroud gets cut easily. It runs down the driver's side, really close to the fan blade.

Yeah, cooling system checks out.

We took the cap off again today and fired the beast up, started foaming and bubbling right away in the tank. System won't hold pressure at all now. This is going to be costly.

Wow, that's a dandy! Also watched your video of the pressure tester on same bus.

No, mine isn't that bad!
