We got a 04 IC FE-300 with a DT-466 (EGR) that has had a on and off issue with loss of power to the ECM and the ECM power relay. It has died on the road 3 times in the past week. Today it had a code of 626(unexpected ECM power loss). We have checked all power connections from the battery to the ECM and IDM relays and have found no corrosion, loose pins, ect. Also it has new relays as well. Checked all connections to the ECM and the IDM as well and all looks good. Any one had issues with this code and what the cause might be?

Sounds like you're in the right area. I would suggest working on it with the bus running and when you get to the problem area, it should be warm.

Even though your fuse may look good, replace the ATC fuse holder in the battery box for the ECM with a Maxi Fuse holder and put a 40a maxi fuse in it (assuming it has a 40 amp ATC fuse installed now). You may have 12V at the relays, but you might not be getting enough amps to power through the relay to the ECM. You can verify by using a headlight to test the supply wire at the relay connection and see how bright the light is. Hope this helps.

I already ddi the Headlight on the circuit. A headligh pulls about 4 amps. As for the fuse connections they are tight. We have had only 1 failure in a fuse holder with an ATC fuse. The IDM circuit pulls about 20 amps when running thru the circuit. The 40 amp fuse powers bosth the ECM power supply and that of the IDM as well via the same circuit. I dont think this is the problem but will look into it further.

Did you by chance rip the loom off the wires and check for swollen wiring/green dust . Ive seen this on many navistar products. Sometimes its not just at the connectors .
