Hello,

Recently we puchased 3 Used AmTran Re's buses to use as spares/activity/sports trip & misc Buses. I did already notice a few quirks when transporting them home, such as the engines runnung HOT on the interstate usually around 200- 215 almost 220 pulling the hills, The Fan clutch is engaging I have to clean the radiators out. thats a given on ANY RE bus. But what else to I have to look forward to on these buses. I did notice that the guages arent very accurate as well.

Specs Include:
1997 Year
T 444 E
Hyd Brakes
AT 545 xmission

sound familar Yes they are former Laidlaw buses.

Thank you for your Professional Input.

the fan clutch wires usually get eaten by the belts. the only way to clean those radiators is to remove them. there is no good path to spray them out.

its like a slinky! useless but fun to watch.

That temp is normal for AmTran REs. We had 20 of them at my First Student base. Even in the dead of Winter 210 is whare they ran.
