Nope!

My 440 Crawler Loader was real difficult to wire:
Gen on regulator-wire goes to the generator
Bat-goes to battery
Think the third wire went to the switch

My dad's '47 Willys headlights would get real bright depending on how much engine speed you have. His '51 GMC rackbody- the windshield wipers would quit working when you floored it going uphill.

Back in the good old days.

Giving it some thought, John Deere manuals don't cost much if I am not mistaken. The one that I got for my 440 was only around $15. IH wanted $125 for a repair manual for my tractor.

Have you asked a dealer for help? I think they(JD)gave me a photocopy of a page of a manual once.
