Does anyone know whether the new Thomas Saf-T-Liner EF will still be available with the older styled grille or not as opposed to that new 3 vent grille?

I don't think so. All of our new Thomas Buses are coming in with the new style grilles, I got the last "new" bus with the regular grille.

No, they don't use that grill on the Saf-T-Liner EF anymore.

I saw one of these a few days ago in person for the first time. I mentioned this elsewhere: It looks like a TC2000 with a grille from a 1970s Dodge Conventional. It is amazing how dated these buses look compared to an HDX.

I Wonder if they will take after the C2 Body or the HDX Body?. I like the HDX Body and Interior Better than the C2's.

I have to agree with you, the C2 interior is odd looking. It's very tall and narrow. DOes anybody know a good site to find a pic of the new grille. Richard do you have any?, you have alot of good pics.

I'm going to assume the new EF will be of the HDX styling. Thomas is investing a lot of money into updating the plant that produces them, but not the kind of improvements required to build the C2 design from what I've read.

The new Thomas buses with the three grilles aren't looking as bad as I thought they were.

They are now coming in with yellow grilles too, so you can't really notice the black grille.

I saw only one with a yellow grille, so it's yellow on yellow instead of yellow on light black/tan or whatever the engine grille color is.

While the new grill is nothing to write home about, I think it is good that they took that minor step, just to kind of "refresh" their EF, and give it a slightly different appearance. It is important to do that every once in a while. Same thing with IC, when they changed the roof caps in 2005, same bus.... different appearance. And then again for the 08 model year larger windows and doors. It is a good thing to refresh a bus every now and then.

bus 1980, a 2008 IC RE 300 for Fairfax County Public Schools, Fairfax, Virginia.

I'm one of the few people that like the new style grille on the EF. The openings are somewhat large but the old grille was dated looking.

I'm also one of the few that doesn't care for the new hood on the Vision. I'd just as well have the older style hood.

If you have an International, you NEED customer service.

Yeah, I like the new grilles now too, after seeing more of them. I only drove one of them once, and I don't think there is any difference between my Thomas and the Thomas bus that has the three grilles.

What does the new hood on the vision look like?

I like the ef with the new grille, now to think of it, it does remind me of the dodge grille from the 70s. Just leave the body alone, leave atleast one of the buses the old way for us old timers

Does anyone have a pic of the Dodge grille from the 70's?

What is this "Hydraulic Brakes" nonsense you speak of?

Wow, the new Thomas EF grille does show quite a resemblance to the 70's Dodge... And thank you GMCBlueBird83!
