Has anyone had any trouble with the new 2500 series allison 5spd automatic. I have a 2006 Vision that just turned over 8,000 miles and developed a loud grinding whining noise at low speeds especially in reverse. Allison says the transmission is bad, they may not be able to rebuild it and it will take a month to get a new one because they can't produce them fast enough....anyone else having any trouble?

completely rediculous in a BRAND NEW BUS!!!

Probably one of the drums cracked, sometimes stuff like that happens. I saw a piston totally disintegrate on a Chevy 366 at only 255 miles! GM determined it was a bad piston casting, after dissecting the engine. Hopefully you are not the first of an epidemic. Good Luck!
