Can anyone give me a lead as to whether or not I could get a Detroit Series 6 or similar hp engine in an International 1800 frame for my 1988 Bluebird Aluminum bodied short bus?

Any help appreciated.

Randy,
Since this is an 1800 I'll assume it's conventional chassis as well. This is too light duty a chassis for a 6-71 or a 6V92 Detroit engine. It's too short for the inline 6 cyl and the '92 is too wide and both weigh too much for the frame rails and suspension components. The radiator for either of them would be too large for the available space constraints, too. This is well suited to the 9.0 liter V-8 or the DT series engines. The DT-360 was a great engine and the DT-466 will go in there, too. The 6.9/7.3 liter type engine was available then as well, but I'd steer well clear of them for reliability.
Good luck with it!
