Lower Paxton police say a bus driver with the Central Dauphin School District had a sexual relationship with a 15 year-old girl for three months. 53 year-old Alvin Mummart of Boas Street in Harrisburg was arrested Tuesday at his house.
Police say he would pick up the 15 year-old girl between bus routes, they would drive to a local construction site where the girl would perform sexual acts on the driver, while they were on the school bus. Police also say at times Mummart gave the girl alcohol on the bus as well.
On January 12th police received a tip that a school bus was seen daily at a nearby construction site. It was at that point when police investigated. Sgt. Greg Taylor/Lower Paxton Township Police, "A uniformed officer pulls up, finds the school bus parked just as the caller had said, walked up, talked to the driver the only person visible was the driver. Asked the driver if anyone else was on the bus, the driver said no. The officer wanted to check and found the girl hiding on the bus."
Now how did this girl meet Mummart? She wasn't on his bus route, instead police say the girl was a friend of the the bus driver's son. Mummart is being held at Dauphin County Prison on 50,000 dollars bail. Still no comment from the Dauphin County School District. |
