| I operate a business selling school surplus furniture here in Lexington, N.C., only 18 miles from the Thomas (best bus in the USA!)plant in High Point. I have 33 old buses in my collection, and I need MORE to store furniture in. They don't have to run or even have engines in them. The only thing the city here reqires is that they have the front ends(grille, hood, etc), and the tires on them. I don't even need a title. Missing windows are fine. I am interested in any old buses within 75 miles of me. I have a tow company who is flexible with me, so your bus can be carted away in days. Prices must be reasonable, FREE buses always welcome.!!!! (lol!) |

| Hello, I dont know of any old buses with in 75 mi of you but there is a place in deep soth western ohio called mike and b's who have many many junk buses they could sell. By the way what kind of buses do you have like Carpenter, Wayne etc.? |

72corsair, I don't know who told you that Mike & B Sales in in South-West Ohio, but they are VERY wrong. It is in the North-Eastern part of the state, near Newcomerstown.

| Hey Corsair, Ohio is a little far, but let me tell you about my buses. Over the past 30-40 years, NC has mainly used Thomas bodies, but I have a few from out of state. I have 2 1980 Waynes (Fords) that originally came from Fairfax Co. Va. school system, but were used by a Baptist church here til they wore out. I have a 1968 Wayne (Intenational), that was used by the Forsyth Co. NC school system,but was used as storage by a farmer for 10 years 'til I got it. In 1968-69, North Carolina bid on Waynes, but were not happy with them and went back to Thomas until last year when they went with International brand bodies to try to save money. Our county here got 2 of them, with that funky new grille!. Thomas then lowered their price, so in 2005 NC is going back to Thomas again. I also have a 1984 Ward Transit style school bus that originally belonged to Ryder Student Services and was in service for the Boston, Mass. city school system. Then, a church bought it and used it down here, but being regular gas and having a Chevrolet 466 c.i. motor, it drank the gas. A Thomas employee who attended their church helped them get a brand new transit style bus at a huge discount. I have a 1977 Wayne ( Int'l) that came from Lewis County, Kentucky, to a church down here, who in turn junked it at a junk yard, then I saved it from the crusher by 2 days! I have a 1968 Carpenter (Chevy) that came from Minnesota (it has tanks above the rear wheels that store sand, and at a push of a button, sand comes out for traction in winter!) A pastor who transferred to a church down here drove it down and used it at his church until I bought it. My 23 or 4 other buses are all retired Thomas buses I bought from school systems around here. |

Very interesting I like those buses.That 68 carpenter sounds like my kinda bus . Patrick, Newcomerstown is pretty far south by dover i live by Cleveland so it is very south from here. Im not sure where Jeffersonville is but you must be south of newcomerstown. |

| If you divide Ohio into 4 sections, with Columbus being the center, Newcomerstown IS in the Northeast section of Ohio. BUT, being from near where Alex is, it's a little misleading. I guess east central would be a better way to describe where Newcomerstown is. |

See South Carolina. Their entire fleet, or nearly so, fit within what you are looking for. (jk)

Yeah, its defenetly not in south western Ohio. Its not far from me really. Mike & B's probaly doesn't sell those parts buses, they probaly just sell the ones for sale and complete. |

I would like to post some, but I am sort of " back in time' on my computer, it's a mid 90's model and cant handle the equipment to do so until I update it, or hopefully get a new one! Every time I have money to buy a new computer I blow it on buying anoter bus!!!! |

Thanks! Actually, over the past 6 years Ive bought 4 old buses at the lot in Raleigh, 2 old blue Thomas NCDMV buses (1974 Int'ls), and two old 1973 Fords (both Thomas) that were used at a prison farm near the coast! |

| Hey wantamustang94, do you have any Wayne buses with the "teardrop" windshields? I think that '64 might have them. They were from mid-50s to early-70s. Thanks. |
