I went to start this RE300 bus on Friday and got nothing . Wouldn't even begin to turn over . Checked batteries . Charged . Went in the bus and found that there is no power to the transmission . Key pad is dead . I think I know the answer but thought I would ask . Where is the fuse for the allison at ? If it's in the battery box I can't open it far enough to get into that . The door hits on a post in the stall and I can't roll the batteries out .

Double check that all the switches in the engine compartment are on "run" or "front"?

We had one of our rear engine blue birds do this and it turned out that the whole transmission computer had fried overnight. I guess we were lucky there wasn't a fire.

Don't know if this will help you much or not.

Once again you left out key information like what year the bus is. Assuming its a 05-07 vintage IC-RE you will find it in the "electrical box" in the engine compartment. I do not remember what fuse number it is right off but it is a 10A (red in color) fuse that powers the key pad. Make sure the engine safety (kill) switch is in the run position.

Once you find the fuse and if the fuse is good and the terminals connecting to it as well then you will need to trace the wire to the shift pad. If the shift pad does not light up the bus will not start. There are a couple of fuses that the transmission TCM requires to operate and they should be in the "electrical box" as well. Make sure all of the fuses are good.

IC is notorious in putting all the wiring on the bus inside poly loom which causes all kinds of issues. On the IC-RE buses the wires to the TCM were secured to the top of the transmission and would vibrate excessively with the engine and rub the insulation off the wires within the poly loom. We have had this issue on the three buses like this. Dirt getting into the loom is a concern as well. If you find this as an issue then I suggest that you secure the wires to the frame and body above the transmission (easy to do).

Good Luck!
