Going on the 4th ROCORE Transmission Cooler failure. The cooler fails internally allowing coolant into the transmission.This has cost approximately $ 22,000.00 with the highest mileage being 63000 the lowest 33000. All Buses were 2012-13. ROCORE has not responded to emails or phone calls. At this point active search for a different cooler is under way. At $ 1000.00 for a ROCORE it seems dumb to put another one in the bus. Any ideas or suggestions for replacement coolers that are considerably more reliable ?

Before you condemn the cooler, are you using the correct coolant, maintaining it correctly?

Absolutley these buses still had coolant and fluid installed by the factory. The filter and fluid change interval was never reached.

Hey, funny that you mention this. I was just doing an inspection on our new Bluebird FE's we got and just happened to look at the name of the trans cooler that is on them; they are ROCORE. I don't know if they updated them since 2013 or if they still have the same problems. If you find any info on this, please lmk. It would be good to know if we should do some preventative maintenance.

We are replacing them before they fail. Whats dumb is we are putting the same cooler back in hoping they have improved.Would really like to have an alternative but there have been no suggestions. ROCORE has not responded at all to numerous inquiries.

Thanks, I talked with the boss on Tues about this. I guess we'll see if he wants to invest the money. Since they're new, they are under a 1 year warranty so maybe after the year is up there will be more talk about preventative maintenance.
