I have a bunch of buses with a Allison AT545 tranny.
One of the units' speedsender broke, and i had to rob one out of one of my units that has been in the garage with engine troubles.
The part I am talkin about is the one that screws into the tranny, and then it has another triangular looking piece that screws into it. I need both of those parts. The triangular piece is the one the odometer cable screws into.
Does anyone have one on an old tranny they would be willing to get rid of? And if I do have to buy one, who do i go to? Allison or Bluebird? How much should I expect to spend on a new one?
If you have one you would want to sell or trade, let me know.

Allison for the first part that fits into the trans, and anyone (Navistar, Ford, Freightliner) for the other. There is a number etched or stamped lightly into the speedo adapter (triangular piece) near the parting seam, you'll need that number to get the correct new part. They are repairable too. |

It sounds like you need a pencil gear and ratio drive. Is the ratio drive frozen? I may have the parts. Get the ratio numbers and count the teeth on the gear. |

If its a Navistar, they can supply both pieces. Rear axle ratio and tire size determine the ratio adaptor. |

Navistar can get what you need no matter what type of chassi it is. The spedo parts are very interchangeable, and many Nav. dealers have a good selection of parts on hand. |

yeah, from what y'all have told me. Here's what i got. The drive from the speedo adapter is broken off in in the ratio driver.
How would you go about getting that broken off prong out of the ratio drive? |

Spray with a penetrant and pull it out with a needle nose pliers or a pick if it has a keyway groove. Make sure the ratio drive is lubed and easilly turning before reinstalling. Is the broken drive pin keyed on both ends? |
