Does anyone have problems with students not knowing which bus is theres. THey just wait for a bus to stop out front? Here we;'ve had cases that kids try to get on the wrong bus.Because the kid does not know what the bus looks like or the number and just think it a sub drivers so they get on.

Our district has many bus routes which overlap, so many times 2 or 3 buses pass by the same stop or very close to it. Sub drivers have missed stops in the past, lately drivers on the other buses will chip in and help out when another bus breaks down. A worse problem is in the afternoon with sub drivers/buses, our district divides the bus loop into 3 zones and each bus is assigned a specific zone, not a spot. Therefore the order is a little different everyday, and often the subs don't even park in the right zone. They are supposed to put markers with the correct bus # in the window, which they usually do. There is still confusion though.

I have had it happen to me in the past. Most of the time now other students well quest the students presence on their bus and the problem is resolved. If you don't discover the problem before you depart quess what you get to take the student home after you run your regular route. Remember this all ole yeller school buses look alike to a kid. The often look for their regular driver that is why it is important for route drivers to be at work every day.

I think the reason that most buses in the county only have the last part of the number
on the right side(on 90-18,18 is on the right)is so that elementary students can find the proper bus.But the teachers call out the bus number when the buses arrive(still doesn't help if they don't know the number.)

We give animal names to our buses for the benifit of elementry kids. Only problem is when a spare bus is used, and has a differant animal.Middle and high schoolers should be able to remember their route number.

We have route numbers on each bus in a prominate location, but sometimes the elementary schools add an animal name, too.
