BOSTON —A bicyclist was crushed beneath the right rear tire of a school bus headed to pick up students on Tuesday.
According to The Boston Globe, William Pecoraro, 41, was bicycling beside the bus when he swerved to avoid something in the road and fell under the vehicle.
Though the accident is still under investigation, police say that driver Jean Max Brizard probably will not be charged. Brizard, who has had his CDL since 1997, had only one minor violation on his record when he began work as a school bus driver.
Eastern Bus Company, a small school bus operator in Somerville, Mass., hired Brizard in 1999. Brizard is currently on leave pending the results of the investigation.
