Ours is in the end of August. The kids report back for 3 days, and school employees report back for four days. After that we get the three day holiday weekend and then the school year kicks off for good.

We start backon 8-14. Summer school just ended last week, so we don't get a huge break. We'll finish up our transmission servicing, front tire rotations, and coolant recycling like we do every summer. Then we're good to go. Joe

We start August 26 with a full day.
Our two new buses for next year should be in tomorrow or tuesday, I'm excited for that.

We must be the early birds. Our first full day is this Friday..August the 2nd. We do have half a day on Thursday. All buses but the city's primary buses will run. Which means I don't have to drive. But I will report to work so that I can ride with someone.

I have 2 Elementary schools kicking in on Aug. 1 with three buses running. The rest will start on Aug. 22 with 7 more buses in full operation servicing elementary, middle schools and high school. Summer seems to be getting shorter and shorter. lol It's been a busy and fun summer driving Parks and Recreation charters all over the island. We also have had private school groups from the mainland on summer tours as well as regular tourist using school buses as a novelty way to travel.

I just noticed last night, as I was sitting on my grandparents's patio that the locust are getting LOUDER AND LOUDER and they're singing LOUNGER! Everybody should know what that means....School will be here soon! My gram said when my dad and uncles were young, they used to hate to hear that sound, because they knew they would have to go back to school.

Our school district starts back on August 26. I am moving (thank goodness), and the district where I'm moving to starts a week or two earlier.

I would like to say how much I have enjoyed reading all of your comments on all of the different topics. Our school district starts September 3, 2002, and I will not be at my day job to see that happen, for you see, I'm going to retire on August 30, 2002, after 28 years turning wrenches and being a Supervisor in a wonderful shop. I'll miss the smell of diesel in the morning and the sound of diesel engines starting. I'll have a great time just enjoying my hobbies. I like to cut and polish rocks and work wiyh silver. May all of you have a great summer ( what left of it), and I'll be talking to sometime in the future.

Our normal School Schedule starts back on August 22 for IPS (Indianapolis Public Schools). But our alternative Schedule started back July 31. This schedule is our 1st year to go to year round school. We have 3 Elementary Schools going to this schedule.

My day back is on August 26th, and i'm really looking forward to seeing what bus i get. I hope i get an All American FE or a TC2000 FE. If i don't, though, thats ok. If i don't get an All American FE or a TC2000 FE, then the only other choices would be a Thomas Saf-T-Liner MVP EF or a Thomas Saf-T-Liner ER, which would b perty awsome, too. What do u think of Front-Engine transit buses? Tell me what u think in my new topic.

Our district starts August 16. I'm going into the 10th grade and the only reason I want to go to school is because I'm going to ride a brand new 2002 Chevy Bluebird.

I was just at the garage yesterday and saw two brand new Blue Bird All American FE's, 84 passenger. That just sparked my fire even more to get back to school!
The locust are singing louder and longer -- you know what that means! |

Jackson Local Schools start on September third. I'm happy (elated) to say that I will be having a route for the school year! I'm not sure what I'll be driving yet, but I find that out on the 14th of August when I pick my route. The day after is a bus drivers meeting/inservice.
