Have an overheating problem with the tranny on a 06 IC RE. Just took the radiator off to fix a water pump problem and r/r the hoses on the tranny cooler and filled with new coolant. Put all back together and the Allison transmission is running HOT! Like 300 degrees on the freeway according to guage. Also fixed the belt and tensioner. The engine is not overheating staying around 210 when running. The problem did not exist until after I did the repairs. Thanks for any advice.

Is the torque converter locking up as designed? Should be lock up in all gears but first.

Why yes, the ORIGinal CHARGER is a Fastback

Well took it out today for a 25 mile drive and the temperature didn't get over 230 degrees on the tranny oil gauge, stayed mostly around 210 to 220 though. I think this is acceptable. Anyway checked the fluid level and for kinks in the hoses. Everything checked out.

We have had issues with our 05 FE buses with Allison World transmissions showing that were over heating. Never had one actually overheat. They all had a bad sender or poor connections in the instrument panel.
