It really depends on what engine the bus has, mileage, and condition. Although some financial institutions utilize value books that a value for even a bus can be found and you can find them on the web as well, the value is only as good as you can find someone to pay it. Buses of the 2000 year vintage can be found selling for as little as $3k to as high as $10k. As for the decision to fix, sell, or scrap, you need to find out what you could replace it for. There is nothing wrong with putting money in a bus that is in good shape because often it's usefulness outweighs its "value." You also must consider the risk in purchasing a similar used bus. If you rebuild an engine or transmission, at least you have the rebuilder's warranty and also know some of the history of the bus. As a warning, bus and rv values are in the trash these days, so they may not help you. |
