Anyone ever see a 37mt delco starter break the aluminum rear cap? Driver said he shut it off and wouldn't restart. I asked him had it ever "kicked back" during a start he said nay. The armature is still intact and the drive seems good not locked up. Replacing it with a reman.

Jokes on me! One of the helpers at the local bus garage beat on it with a hammer trying to get it started. "Oh I might have hit it a little too hard". Wasn't there a thread on bus abuse here somewhere? LOL. Now we are $88 in the hole for a core the rebuilder won't accept.
