I have 18 '06 71 pass CE's with DT's built starting 8/23/06, and I have not replaced a U-joint or carrier yet. We use Mobil CM-S grease. I have 26 '08 77 pass MFDT buses that are good so far as well...
What kind of miles are you seeing the replacements starting at?? |

I don't have any of these so I'm not familiar with the bus, is it rear air ride suspension? |

No problem with ours that I know of. Another guy in the shop found a center bearing he claimed was bad but I didn't look at it. We lube ours every PM. |

We have 22 CE200 special needs buses in the 05-06 vintage and have done a fair amount of rear u-joints in them. Most are around 180,000 miles total now. No repeats though. |

I use Mobil CM-P grease on all of our fleet and I haven't replaced a U joint in years. We have buses and dump trucks going their entire lifespan on the original U joints, 15-18 years. 14,000+ hours. The last U joint I replaced was on a '92 IH 4900 salt truck. |
If it doesn't fit, FORCE it. If it breaks, well, it needed replacing anyway. Pullin' wrenches for 45 years. |

We replaced most of ours the first year and have not had an issue since. |
