We just took delivery of 2 2012 Ford E450 Coach & Equip. buses (GSA contract) they are equipped with high idle. The older powerstroke equipped 450s had an Intermotive system fast idle controller, it automatically ramps up the idle, but the driver can shut it off by holding the brake pedal down, and holding the engage button.
The newest 450s automatically kick into high idle, but there is no panel to shut it off. Do they have to go back to Ford to have this shut off? I don't want them going to fast idle immediately after a cold start in the winter time.
Note: I'm not talking about the factory high idle that gradually slows the idle seconds after the bus is started. Its a constant fast idle, that only shuts off if the driver has their foot on the brake, or the bus in gear. |
