A recent visit to the fleet in my hometown provided a surreal realization. The day I did not realize would come so soon: our C2s are now the oldest buses in the fleet. A lease of several 2011 Thomas EFs and the purchase of many 2009 Thomas EFs (lease turn-ins from elsewhere) resulted in the departure of our 1997s, 1998s, 1999s, 2000s, and 2002s. So, with the exception of one 2005 Blue Bird International, our 2006 Thomas C2s have become among the oldest buses in the fleet. How strange! |

What is strange for a fleet in MI is that the oldest buses are only 6 and 7 years old! |
I may not know the answer but I can usually find who does. |

I suppose they are fortunate! The district I worked for retired their 1986 Blue Bird Chevy only last school year. |

Do you have a picture of that 86? What's your oldest bus now? |

The oldest bus in that district now is a 1997 TC FE. |

Love it! I love the box front Chevys. A local church has a 1987 Thomas that's a retired school bus, still yellow and numbered 87-C, love that look. I saw a 91 Bluebird at a track meet a few years back, but I feel like they were fairly rare to come by in the early 90s. Was this one acquired from another school and modified (numbering, etc? Crazy that you went from an 86 as your oldest to a 97! |
