Maybe I shouldn't assume, but whoever is behind this is probably behind the thefts of the Orange County buses a couple of months back. Would be great to catch these people.
Years ago we had a bus theft. 2 am. the police alerted the maintanence department that the yard gate was laying in the middle of the street. When the police found the bus there were only 3 panes of glass still intact. The tow truck operator had to chain the front axle to the frame to haul the bus in. A few days prior someone had come into the yard, started a TC2000, put it in gear and left it running with the key shut off(manual shutdown) No fan clutch (key turned off) engine was so hot it melted the coolant sensor out of the top radiator tank. Toasted engine and transmission.
