For those of you who haven't seen my posts in the General Interest section I wanted to introduce myself here. After discussing with your association administration it was approved to start a similar post in here.
My name is Matt Eaton; I am a partner in a local Kansas City business, Oil Depot. We are an exclusive dealer of Amsoil Synthetics, which is a superior line of products providing better performance, wear, and protection. Oil Depot has a 30 year history and we currently operate two storefront and warehouse locations, one in Lee's Summit, MO and the other in Oklahoma City. We would love to gain your trust and business.
I wanted to give you all some more information about the products that are designed for buses. I have provided the data links for you.
These are the Amsoil synthetic products made specifically for diesel engines and equipment. This link will take you to the featured diesel product line. http://www.myoildepot.com/Files/Amsoil%20Diesel%20Power%20Brochure%20G1489%2010%2024%2011.pdf
I'm sure you are aware that on 2007 and newer diesel engines require a API CJ-4 rating. Amsoil makes three great products that are also retro compatible with diesel engines made prior to 2007, so your fleet manager can choose one oil and service all diesel fleet vehicles.
CJ-4 Premium Diesel 5W-40 - AMSOIL 5W-40 Synthetic Diesel Oil (DEO) is the premium choice for API CJ-4 emission-quality diesel oil required by model-year 2007 and newer diesel engines. It delivers extraordinary lubrication in diesel engines found in commercial, fleet and personal vehicles. Built with the latest additive and synthetic base oil technology, AMSOIL Premium 5W-40 Synthetic Diesel Oil exceeds the higher performance demands of modern engines. It withstands the stress of heat, soot and acids to help prevent deposits, wear and corrosion. AMSOIL Synthetic 5W-40 is wax-free with a broad viscosity range to provide exceptional cold-weather starting and high-temperature protection. It resists breakdown and offers maximum fuel efficiency over extended drain intervals.
CJ-4 Premium Diesel 15W-40 - AMSOIL Premium 15W-40 Diesel Oil can extend drain intervals far beyond those recommended for conventional petroleum oils. Its unique synthetic formulation and long drain additive system (10.4 TBN) deliver superior engine protection, cleanliness and performance over extended drain intervals.
CJ-4 OEM Diesel 15W-40 - AMSOIL OE 15W-40 Synthetic Diesel Oil provides excellent protection and performance in both on- and off-road diesel engines for the original equipment manufacturer’s recommended drain interval. It meets API CJ-4 specifications and is suitable for both modern and older diesel applications. AMSOIL OE 15W-40 Synthetic Diesel Oil exceeds the higher performance demands of modern engines and withstands the stress of heat, soot and acids to help prevent deposits, wear and corrosion.

Pretty much every source I've seen has said that Amsoil is the best out there, but I was searching for cars -- European Car 100% Synthetic 5W-40 for my application. I notice that you carry that. When I click the order button on your site, it directs me to Amsoil's site to order from there.... I assume phone call or email is the only way to order through you? Would it be cheaper to buy through you than directly from Amsoil? |

If you would like to send me your order through email or phone call I will make sure it will be processed. We have Euro 5w-40 in stock. We would love to gain your trust and business.
We are currently in the process of making an important and necessary change to our website where customers can order directly from Oil Depot Online rather than being redirected to another site. At this time please continue to email or call your orders in and I will make sure they are processed immediately.
A special thanks to those who have placed orders with us in the last few days. Please let us know the cost savings and performance increases you are seeing in your fleet and equipment.
Thanks for your Business,
Matt

Thanks for the quick response, Matt. I have the stuff for my next change already, so I won't be needing to worry about making another purchase for several months, but I'll definitely look further into Amsoil and Oil Depot at that time. |

Quick question, Matt. Amsoil lists Matthew and Kristin Eaton as a dealership with a phone number different than the ones on your site (although both area codes point to Kansas City). Just curious... why is this? |

Kristin is my beneficiary, should something happen to me she would have access to our account information at Amsoil Corporate. I am not quite sure what telephone number you are referring to. It may be an old number, but the telephone number that is listed in my signature is my business phone number. The telephone number listed on our website is our store number, (ironically, we actually just discussed changing the published number on our website to my business phone). I will do some research to see if there is another number published somewhere that is different than what I have just mentioned. I was recently hired on with the Oil Depot team and now manage their storefront/warehouse in Kansas City.
I hope this clears up any confusion. If you have more questions feel free to post, email, or call and I will do my best to answer them quickly and effectively.
Thanks

The number Amsoil gives is... actually, I just realized, your business phone, the one you give in the signature. Sorry, I didn't think to look at that; I only looked at Oil Depot's website. I appreciate your transparency; I am skeptical of vendors I find online, and a red flag went up when I thought the numbers didn't match. Sorry for the confusion! |

Hmmm. Okay, I tried it again. But here it is if you don't get the email again.
Oil Depot would love to assist you with your lubrication needs. There would be some shipping cost incurred, but we will work out something to help lower that cost as well as product cost. If you wouldn't mind giving me a call I would be glad to assist you. No strings attached, I'll just answer your questions and guide you in the right direction with our products and what will make the most sense for you financially.
I don't really consider myself a salesman. Yes, I have a product and I am selling it. This is my "day job," so it does kind of make me a salesman, but there's no pressure here. I am too laid back to get into high pressure sales.
I hope to talk with you soon.
