PORTLAND, Tenn. -- A 6-year-old Portland girl is hospitalized in Nashville after a school bus door closed on her hand Monday afternoon.
The child, whose name has not been released, was getting off the bus when her hand somehow got caught in the door. She was dragged a few feet before the bus driver stopped the vehicle.
The student suffered severe swelling and possible nerve damage in her hand.
