I drive a party bus here, and it is an ex PA school bus, a 90 pax 1991 Thomas ER. The bus has had an issue with the speedometer working very sporadically. Well, now there is RPM's and the Odo/Speedo have completely stopped working. We have the bus to 4 different shops (2 of which service the base buses) and none of them can figure out where the problem is. I went to pick the bus up from Southern Speed today and they said they got up with TBB, they told them they didn't have anything on units that old. So..I was wondering if anyone knew were I could get a wiring diagram, or some input to get this situation resolved. The owner of the bus is willing to pay for any manual/diagrams that anyone may have that would help us point the service people in the right direction. Thanks all in advance!
does this bus have the pick-up for the speedo on the L/F wheel? If it does replcae the pick-up and the entire wiring harness between it and the speedo head.
There is a magnetic PU on the driver front wheel. About 20" or so up the wire from the sensor is a poor butt conection that starts out as an intermitant problem and then finally goes completely open. Pretty easy fix once you find the splice.
