I've got to service two 5.9 cummins engines for my church's bus fleet. I've only had experience with IHC DT's so I need some questions answered. One engine is in a 1994 Blue Bird TC 2000 and the other is in a 1994 Ford Carpenter.

How many quarts oil do these engines typically take? They probably have the standard oil pans on them.

Do they have a water filter like the DT's do?

How many fuel filters do they have?
I'm gonna get out there tomorrow and look them over but I would like to have an idea about them.
Thanks

If memory is correct, they take 18 quarts on a change. One oil filter and one fuel filter on the engine itself. There could be an addition filter and/or fuel-water seperator elsewhere depending on how the bus was spec'ed. None of mine had coolant filters, not sure if they were available on the engine, but there certainly could be a remote-mounted one.
