Hello everyone,
I would like to share with you the recent addition to my school's fleet of buses!

Thursday (03/17/05) our bus that we had on order arrived at the school. The bus is a 2006 IC CE.

The bus includes features such as:

  • New Multi-Plex Wiring

  • New IC Child Check system

  • New Pre-Trip light inspection sequence

  • Air Brakes (with safety parking brake release)

  • Air Ride

  • Automatic Allison transmission

  • DT-466 I-6 Turbocharged diesel engine

  • One roof hatch exit, two exit windows, and rear door

  • Plus all of the other new IC Corporation features!

This is one incredible little bus that you just have to see!

Check it out on my web site under the IC-CE section:
http://www.freewebs.com/wvschoolbus

Also, don't forget to check out the other buses we have in our fleet if you haven't already done so! You won't be disapointed!

Hope you like the new bus!

-Chris

Very nice bus!! Funny that today my contractor is trying out a new IC-CE so we can go ahead and order our 2006 IC-CE. I looked at it tonight and tomorrow I am going to take it out to test it on my route. Sitting in the seat for two mins I feel in love with the bus I bet that driver will too.

She may take time getting used to its little bells and whistles, it's a big step up from a 1995. However, it's a smaller bus (half ths size of 6, the bus it's replacing next school year)

Chris,

I know what you mean by bells and whistles I spent an hour and half with my contractor and her husband going threw all the things this bus can do and what we like and what we don't like so we can get the specs just right. Our other driver came and checked it out she fell in love with it too she drives a 01 BB AA FE. That driver sounds like me I am going from a 94 to an 06. But last year I was in a 04 IC-RE. So it probaly not as drastic for me as it will be for her.

So far there's nothing I don't like about the bus, it's great! I didn't notice right off the bat, but the stop arm is not an LED "STOP" blade, thank goodness! I hope those are a done deal with our school.

That's a great looking shorty IC-CE. Nice to start seeing '06 buses!!

Chris, on a side note, I was wondering about the interior photo of the '03 IC CE that is on the bottom of that same page with the '06 photos. Maybe my eyes are playing tricks but the interior colors look like light green paint with blue seats and blue floor. Is that the case or are my eyes that bad? If it is a green/blue combo that seems pretty rare...and odd. I figure it must be light blue that just appears green.

Ted,
Buses 17 and 18 both have blue/light blue interiors. I guess it just appears to be green because it was surrounded by grass

Thanks! That saves me a trip to the eye doctor!
I figure about any combo is always possible. Old 70's Superiors with red seats and green interiors still blow my mind.

I saw that sight later Friday. I thought I saw the bus in that picture, but I learned we are retiering our 100 1989 Ford Blue birds. Funny fact, but they haven't touched our 1988 Ford Waynes yet.

I believe that the Wayne Ford combo was close to, if not the best built buses there were in the 80's. Our Ford Blue Bird lasted longer than our two Wayne Fords though, however they were 87's, I think. So it makes sense to keep newer buses longer than older. Atleast in a small fleet such as ours.

That's a nice 2006 IC CE. Congrats to Walton-Verona for getting such a good looking bus.

Very nice-looking bus, indeed. Too bad I won't see any of those where I work

Due to the current economic condition, the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off until further notice.

Why is the tail light arrangement different from other ICs?

What is different? Are you talking about the back up lights?

We swiched over from the small round back up lights around the mid 90's. The rectangular lenses produce a much brighter light because of their design.
