Does anyone remember this vehicle being proposed to the US market in the early 90s? Just thought I'd like to share with you all this info I dug up on the internet.

Yes I remember this bus. I have the brochure and the specifications/available options they sent me with the brochure. The available options is dated 10/30/91. I also have both of those School Bus Fleet Magazines with the bus on the cover.

This bus had alot of nice features about it.

What ever happened to this proposal and why did it fall through? Were any of these built for regular school service?

Would these buses have been the next Crowns? It appears that it would have been built quite well. I like the drivers area, for the time period 1991 it was pretty good. All guages, switches, and the light monitor are on the dash.

If you have an International, you NEED customer service.

I drove a TAM once at the Arizona Transportation Administrators confrence back in 1992. Was a pretty nice bus, drove like a coach bus.
I believe though they were pretty high priced for most school districts here. Thanks, Armando Cuellar, Madison Elem. SD#38, Phoenix Arizona.

I think Transportation Charter Services in Orange, California has a TAM bus. I don't have a good picture of it, but if you go to their website, you can see it in the background of one of their pictures.

Their website address is: http://www.tcsbus.com/

Once you are there, click on "School Buses," and then click on "61/91 passenger." You'll see it parked behind the Crown in the picture.

The TAM was built in Yugoslavia. Aside from the difficulty a Eastern European produced bus would have gaining acceptance in the US school bus market, the disintegration into civil war amongst Croatia, Bosnia, and so forth I'm fairly sure doomed the company.
