Story of interest: The National School Transportation Association (NSTA) is urging federal and state government officials to mandate action that requires school districts to fund transportation systems through the conclusion of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) health crisis.

Seems a bit one-sided to me. I assume that any real discussion on this topic would start with the contract between the district and the contractor, but there’s no mention of contract terms here.

As far as I know, my district is paying the guaranteed minimum hours for each route. We run our own fleet. We have a class of trainees just about to finish but they did not get routes in time for this, which may cost us a few of them.

My super says the money has already been budgeted so there's no reason to no pay it. BOE meeting tonight will tell the tale

I have a question for you all... Are you working through this, while the drivers are at home being paid? If so is that the expectation of your district, or you just want to be working?
Our district has the teachers "working from home", and the para's and drivers being paid as usual while the secretaries, maintenance and mechanics and janitors are all expected to be at work.
So I'm just curious what that looks like across the states. Thanks

Myself and the head custodian are working. Mostly because we have things that need done. When we are all caught up, not sure what will happen. The board just approved to pay all non-cert (read non-teacher) employees.
